Data Collection Statement
The Church of England Pensions
Board needs to hold personal information about members of the
Pension and Housing schemes on our computer system and in paper
records, to enable us to look after our members' pension and
housing needs.
We are responsible for the accuracy
and safe-keeping of these records. The accuracy of information is
important to us, so please help us keep our records up-to-date and
inform us of any changes by emailing enquiries@cepb.churchofengland.org or
writing to The Church of England Pensions Board, Church House, 29
Great Smith Street, London SW1P 3PS.
Staff working for the Board have
access to records to enable them to do their job - those with
access are properly trained in confidentiality issues and governed
by a legal and contractual duty to keep details private. All
personal information is kept securely and appropriate safeguards
are in kept place to prevent accidental loss.
In some circumstances, the Board
may be required by law to release personal details to statutory or
other official bodies; for example, if a court order is presented,
or in the case of public health issues. In other circumstances,
members of the schemes would be required to give written consent
before any information is released - such as for medical reports,
or insurance claims.
To ensure our members' privacy,
information will not be disclosed over the telephone unless we are
certain that we are talking to the person concerned. Information
would not be disclosed to friends, family or spouses without prior
written consent, and we do not leave messages with
others.
If you request information about
the Board's activities, we'll send this either electronically or by
post to the address provided and we may then send direct mail that
we feel could be of interest unless you indicate
otherwise.
Members of the Board's pension and
housing schemes have a right to see a copy of their records held by
the Board, but a fee may be required to do so.
