Ministerial Education and Development
The Ministry Division works with the dioceses, the training
institutions and our ecumenical partners to support the education,
formation and development of clergy and licensed lay ministers
(Readers).
Its main responsibilities are:
- the setting of Church wide standards
- promoting the development of best practice in training,
formation and development
- the funding of ordination training by administering the money
raised by dioceses and parishes for this purpose
- through its quality assurance work, checking that church wide
standards are maintained and encouraging training providers to
develop best practice
A current project is the development, by the Church of England
and its partner institutions, of a suite of common
awards with a view to validating ministerial training
through a single HE partner body.
