This Grade II listed former church dates from 1882-3 and is
built of local stone under a scissor-braced roof covered with
slate. The interior of the church features a lofty nave as well as
basement rooms with stone-vaulted ceilings. The building is
situated on an elevated site at the heart of Bacup town centre,
offering 7328 sq.ft. of internal floor space.
The local authority has indicated that it would prefer to see
the premises used for leisure, recreation or retail facilities,
although residential conversion would also be considered.
