CEYC Structure

CEYC Structure

CEYC aims to have two representatives, aged 16 - 25, from all 43 dioceses within the Church of England.

Synod Representatives

Within CEYC there are three elected individuals who represent a youth voice at General Synod.  Although the representatives don't have voting rights they are able to speak in any debate and have been warmly received each time.  At Synod the reps have contributed to all manner of debates, including those on ethical investment, women bishops and the environment.

Regional Groups

The Council membership is divided into regional groups corresponding to those in which the Diocesan Youth Officers are based.  There are funds available for regional events or meetings and CEYC is looking forward to developing regional activities.

Ecumenical Links

CEYC has strong links with members of groups such as FURY - Methodist Youth Executive, the Quakers and members of the Evangelical Church in Germany, all becoming welcome visitors to CEYC meetings. Some members have also had, on occasion, various international opportunities, flying to such places as New York and Germany.  They have attended meetings such as the Ecumenical Youth Council of Europe, the General Convention of the Episcopal Church and, as part of an Anglican Observer group to the United Nations.
