Mr Clive Scowen (London) moved Amendment 536, which following
debate was carried by the Synod.
Amendment 537
A member of the Steering Committee moved that clause 8 should
stand part of the Measure. Synod approved that clause 8 should so
stand.
Amendment 538
A member of the Steering Committee moved that clause 9 should
stand part of the Measure. Synod approved that clause 9 should so
stand.
Amendment 539
A member of the Steering Committee moved that clause 10 should
stand part of the Measure. Synod approved that clause 10 should so

541b, which following debate was carried by the Synod.

A member of the Steering Committee moved that Schedule 2 should
stand part of the Measure. Synod approved that Schedule 2 should so

A member of the Steering Committee moved that Schedule 4 should

A member of the Steering Committee moved that the Long Title
should stand part of the Measure. Synod approved that the Long
Title should so stand.
Simon Killwick moved a motion that the draft legislation be
recommitted for further consideration, which following debate, was
not carried by Synod (For: 102; Against 293; Abstentions 12).
DRAFT AMENDING CANON No 30
A member of the Steering Committee moved that paragraphs 1-9
should stand part of the Canon. Synod approved that the paragraphs
should so stand.

FAITH
AND ORDER COMMISSION (GS1782), INCORPORATING THE 45TH REPORT OF
THE STANDING ORDERS COMMITTEE
(debate continued from Saturday 10th July pm)
Mr Geoffrey Tattersall QC (Manchester) moved amendments to
Standing Orders 105 and 120 to allow for the Faith and Order
Commission as established in Saturday's debate. Both amendments
were carried.
The Archbishop of Canterbury moved a motion 'That this Synod
approve the constitution of the Faith and Order Commission of the
General Synod of the Church of England as set out in Annex A of GS
1782'.
Following debate, the motion was carried.
SPECIAL AGENDA IV - DIOCESAN SYNOD
MOTION - JOB SHARING IN ORDAINED PAROCHIAL MINISTRY ( GS1799A AND 1799B)
Mr Tim Hind to moved on behalf of the Bath and Wells Diocesan
Synod 'That this Synod, having regard to:
(a) the benefits to be gained from job sharing arrangements in
the parochial deployment of ordained ministers, in particular
married
couples where both parties are ordained;
(b) the absence at present of any effective provision for job
sharing in the ordained parochial ministry;
request the Archbishops' Council to bring forward legislative
proposals for the making of such job sharing arrangements.'
Following debate, the motion was carried.

Final Approval
The Chair of the Liturgical Commission (the Bishop of Wakefield)
moved:
'That the liturgical business entitled " Additional Weekday Lectionary and Amendments to
Calendar, Lectionary and Collects" be finally approved for a
period from 14 July 2010 until further Resolution of the
Synod.'

Private Members' Motions
The Revd Richard Moy (Lichfield) moved:
'That this Synod invite the Fresh Expressions team in
consultation with the Liturgical Commission to produce an on-line
library of visual and video resources for worship, so that
hard-pressed local worship leaders may access and use them in both
mission and congregational contexts.'
Following debate the motion was carried as amended:
'That this Synod request the Archbishops' Council to identify
sources of funding for the production of an on-line library of
visual and video resources for worship, so that hard-pressed local
worship leaders may access and use them in both mission and
congregational contexts.'
