Formal consultation begins on reorganisation of West Yorkshire dioceses

The Dioceses Commission has begun the formal consultation phase of its proposals for the Yorkshire dioceses with the publication of a Draft Dioceses of Bradford, Ripon and Leeds and Wakefield Reorganisation Scheme. Consultation on the Draft Scheme will run until 30 April, 2012 and follows consideration of more than 140 written responses to the Commission’s initial vision for the Yorkshire dioceses in its December 2010 report.

A new human resources database software for the Church of England is launched today (19th Oct). When fully operational, Resourcelink Aurora will enhance the efficiency and management of much of the central administration of people systems, replacing software which is now 20 years old.

The Church Commissioners have decided, in principle, to sell Rose Castle, which was the residence of the Bishops of Carlisle until it was declared unsuitable as a See House in 2009. The Commissioners have also decided to delay the marketing process until Autumn 2013.
