An 'app' featuring daily reflections on Bible passages written
by leading authors is now available to the millions of iPhone, iPad
and iPod Touch users. Quick and easy to purchase from the iTunes
store, the Reflections for Daily Prayer app, produced by
Church House Publishing as an alternative to its annual edition in
book and Kindle e-book form, includes Bible passages, inspirational
prayers and easy-to-understand reflections from leading authors,
including Steven Croft, Jane Williams and Angela Tilby.
In a new online video guide introducing the app and
how it works, blogging Bishop of Buckingham, the Rt Revd Alan
Wilson, says: "I like this new app because it's giving people
access to the Bible for themselves anytime they may like it. The
content is absolutely first rate and the prayers go beautifully
with the rest of the content, and it's easy and intuitive to
use."
He also says: "I think that people who use it will find it helps
them to grow as disciples in ways that really build them as people
and in their faith and in the contribution they can make to their
own churches. This is no alternative to going to church or Bible
study, it's a way of being much more effective when you do those
things."
Taking daily Bible passages from the Church of England
Lectionary, the Reflections for Daily Prayer app has the
built-in flexibility of allowing users to go straight to today's
Bible reflection, go to the contents list for all available
reflections from previous days, search for Bible references and
contributors, or search for reflections by date.
By using the Reflections for Daily Prayer app, users
are able to fit in focussing on the Bible alongside reading emails,
updating social media and making phonecalls.
The app is free to download and comes with material for the
following week and the previous fortnight. Subscriptions for one
week (£1.99), one month (£3.99) or 12 months (£11.99) are available from the iTunes store.
Notes
The app was developed by Aimer Media.
Contributors to the Reflections for Daily Prayer Bible

Sheffield, Steven Croft, author and lecturer, Jane Williams, and
