"I see daily examples of Christian living
..."
Keen blogger Karen Storms - author of Stormy Weather -
arrived in the UK 15 years ago from America as a graduate
student and never looked back. She works as a fully qualified
librarian (having completed an MSc in Information and Library
Studies) at a local college, is proud parent (along with husband
Simon) to seven year old Bailey, and is a governor at the
local Church of England school.

Karen who grew up in Florida moved out to Hunton Bridge in
Hertfordshire following her studies and employment in London and
joined the local church, St Paul's, Langleybury (St Albans
Diocese). Once her daughter was born, Karen felt very
much part of the church family but says it has been the link with
St Paul's the local CofE church school which has really developed
her faith.
"I see daily examples of Christian living, through the school
staff; education professionals managing the challenges of the
school day with compassion, kindness, and empathy. I see
these teachers and teaching assistants loving the children, as
Jesus loves each of us. I observe all school staff leave
their personal lives at the school gate, and offer each child,
their families, and all school visitors the attention, care, and
respect that is clearly based on "Love your neighbour". They
inspire me every day."
Karen says she believes church schools are important because
they allow the children to learn academically alongside their
spirituality and unlike in the States where faith-based including
church schools are private, participation is not based on ability
to pay.
"The environment supports the children's moral and ethical growth,
and, when underpinned with the Anglican tradition, they understand
what it takes to live a life within the ten
commandments."
