The Church of England has a major stake in education in parishes, dioceses and schools and colleges across the country.
- Around a quarter of all state primary schools in England - that's around 4,450 - are Church of England.
- Around one in twenty of all state secondary schools in England are Church of England - that's around 210.
- More than 40 academies are sponsored by the CofE through dioceses replacing failing or vulnerable school (from Phase 1 of Academies)
