Human Rights and Religious Freedom

CEC CSC Human Rights Library
In 2010 the Church and Society Commission of the Conference of European Churches created an on-line Human Rights Library. The aim behind this project is to present the diversity of opinions on human rights within CEC member churches. The material found in the electronic library serves as a resource material for those wishing to organise seminars, workshops or training sessions in this field. The human rights library can be accessed here.

Wilton Park Report on Religious Freedom (July 2011)
With religious communities under threat of discrimination and violence in many parts of the world, this conference, organised by the Archbishop of Canterbury's Representative to the EU, identified how the international community can strengthen its ability to protect religious freedom. It built new partnerships between governments, NGOs and faith groups to help the exchange of good practice and to develop practical proposals to support those wishing to exercise their right to peaceful worship. The resulting conference report can be read here.

Swedish Mission Council
The Swedish Mission Council has produced two reports on religious freedom and human rights. The first looks at how freedom of religion and belief contributes to Sweden's foreign policy. The second, provides a quick quide to religious freedom and what it means in practice. Although written from a Swedish context both are valuable educational resources.

Mothers Union
The Mothers' Union has a produced a helpful resource on Children and Citizenship.

The Mothers' Union has produced a paper to identify the possible tensions for Christian women and families as they engage in Christian-Muslim dialogue which it uses to help it reflect on the role of the MU in this sphere.

The following Mothers' Union paper offers some helpful resources exploring the area of religious freedom.

The Mothers' Union has produced a helpful collection of prayers for individual and parish use.
