Prayer for the People of
Egypt
Lord God, sustainer of all creation,
Guide the nations of the world facing trials and
temptations,
especially at this time the people of Egypt.
Give wisdom to those in authority
that they might seek justice and peace.
Let the needy not be forgotten,
nor the hope of the poor be taken away.
Make your people instruments of peace
and let your glory be over all the earth.
Amen

A prayer for the
Middle Eastern countries facing unrest and uncertainty
O God you are in the midst of us
and we are called by your name.
As the foundations of our society
are shaken and our future is uncertain,
may we be given the grace to trust in you.
May we find our refuge and strength in
your eternal changelessness,
today and for ever. Amen.

Prayer for the People of New
Zealand
God of consolation
grant to those who suffer and sorrow at this time of devastation in
Christchurch,
the spirit of faith and courage,
that they may have the strength to meet the days to come
with steadfastness and patience;
not sorrowing without hope
but clinging to your goodness and love,
through Jesus Christ who is the resurrection and the life,
Amen.

Prayer for the People of
Zimbabwe
We pray for the suffering people of Zimbabwe, Forced to live amid
deterioration, disease and despair.
We raise our voices on their behalf,
As truth-tellers we want to proclaim 'This is not good', It is not
how God desires our world to be.
Loving Father, look after the people of that sad but beautiful
land, Care for the little ones, Comfort the dying ones, And into
this hour of darkness may the light of your new dawn begin to
shine.
Amen
