Proposals for pastoral reorganisation affecting the benefice of Hitchin in the Diocese of St. Albans.
The draft Scheme provides for the creation of three new parishes in the area of the parish of Hitchin (which shall be renamed).
This consultation has now closed. As objections were receieved to the proposals, the matter was considered at the meeting of the Mission, Pastoral & Church Property Committee held on Wednesday 25th January 2023. The Committee paperwork can be found below.
The Committee decided that the draft Scheme should be allowed to proceed notwithstanding the representations made against it, and a full statement of reasons for that decision will be posted here in due course.
