Theology Papers

Families and Households - redesigned header

"Theology is foundational to the work of the Archbishops’ Commission on Families and Households. As we draw on scripture, we see a more complex, diverse, messy, and beautiful picture of what it means to live as a family and household than assuming that there is simply a ‘biblical’ understanding of family and household life.

"These papers have been commissioned specifically by the Commission, with theologians invited to reflect on different aspects of family and household life. We are grateful to the authors for their submissions, and hope that you will find these papers illuminating and hopeful as we seek to understand more fully God’s will and purposes for and through families and households."

The Rt Revd Paul Butler, Bishop of Durham, Co-Chair of the Archbishops’ Commission on Families and Households.
