It is our aim that everyone in the NCIs is supported to develop and flourish. We know that promoting and supporting health and wellbeing is key to enabling people to feel they are welcomed, valued for who they are, and that their contribution is appreciated. Promoting wellbeing creates an environment where individuals can flourish, be productive and reach their potential.
We have been focusing more and more on wellbeing since the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent move to hybrid working and we know from our wellbeing and employee engagement surveys, and our workshops on values and behaviours, that we are all committed to building a supportive NCI culture.
Our 2021 employee engagement survey revealed that 90% of staff felt that the NCIs had been supportive during the pandemic. We are building on this strong foundation and ensuring that health and wellbeing continue to be priorities. Wellbeing is front and centre of how we operate and so when working at the NCIs, wellbeing is:
- Promoted on all-staff webinars
- Included in learning week developmental workshops
- Embedded in our approach to hybrid working
- Enquired about in our employee engagement survey
- Discussed in our performance and development reviews
- Considered in our job design principles
- Explored in our Healthy Workload Habits resource
