Mike's Story

Finding God in everyday life

Our second story is about Mike – an officer with the Diplomatic Protection detail at No. 10 Downing Street. Mike has a demanding job. A role that sometimes puts him and his colleagues at risk. A high-pressure environment with high responsibility. As a Christian, Mike understands that he needs to fulfil this duty in a manner that reflects his faith.

We all have roles we can appreciate as service. Duties we can see God gives that are beneficial to others and society – as a friend, parent or sibling; as a tenant support worker, crucial supply chain link, baker or banker... God calls us to a wide variety of roles, but what is it about you, about the way that God is forming you, that really shines?

Seeing God at work in our lives is often a hard thing to become aware of. Challenge yourself to look out for how God is working in your life; and share your everyday faith stories using #EverydayFaith on social media.

#EverydayFaith Mike

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16
