Justice
We believe in a God of justice and mercy. They are not opposites. We work and pray for a just and compassionate society. Part of that is for Christians to be involved in the justice system of our country at every level.
Prisons
The Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Revd James Langstaff, is Bishop to her Majesty’s prisons. The Church of England has a role, though chaplains and others, in every prison in England.
The criminal justice system
We are also committed to being alongside those working in probation, the courts, policing and all other aspects of justice
Security, law and order
Extremism and radicalisation are real concerns, especially after the terrible attacks in recent times. Governments have struggled to find the right approach, and with the Church of England’s extraordinary reach into every part of the country, we want to work for peace at every level.
