Presence & Engagement was set up in 2005 to encourage the Church of England to think about the reality of religious diversity and how it might shape mission and ministry. You can read more about the programme's origins and its current focus in the General Synod reports below:

In 2018, The Rev Dr Richard Sudworth was appointed as the Archbishop’s Secretary for Inter Religious Affairs and the National Advisor for Inter Religious Affairs to the Church of England. Prior to this he was a parish priest in Sparkbrook, Birmingham. Richard has a PhD in Christian-Muslim relations and has written several books on interfaith engagement, as well as being a long-standing member of the Presence & Engagement Task Group.

Siriol Davies coordinates the Presence & Engagement programme. This supports the mission and ministry of parishes and other Anglican communities in multi-religious contexts in England. Siriol would love to hear from you if you require support in this area. She can be contacted at the National Presence & Engagement Team using the form below.
