Church Commissioners announce new Director of Investment Strategy

The Church Commissioners for England announced today the appointment of James Barty as Director of Investment Strategy, a new role within the investment team reporting to Tom Joy, Chief Investment Officer.

James, who was previously global head of cross asset strategy and European strategy at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BofAML) is taking up his new role from 24th July. He brings more than 25 years’ experience as an economist, strategist and hedge fund partner.

Chief Investments Officer for the Church Commissioners for England, Tom Joy commented:

We expect the next decade for markets across all asset classes to be very different to one we have just experienced and managing overall portfolio risk, more dynamically, will become increasingly important.”

The Church Commissioners for England assets total c.£8 billion invested across a broad range of asset classes consistent with our ethical and responsible investment guidelines.
