New Bury St James

Bury St James was built in 1862 - 5 and designed in an Early English style by Isaac Holden and Sons of Manchester. The church is constructed of local rock-faced stone with a scissor-braced timber roof covered in slate. There are a large number of burials in the churchyard which surrounds the church on all four sides.
