I have a lot of contentment in retirement – and lots of unexpected things have come along since I retired. My faith is quite an important factor in all of those things.
When I was working, there were issues cropping up all the time. It helped me realise that looking for justice in situations is really helped by faith – not necessarily up front, but it colours how I am as a person. It helps me to look for good to come out of difficult situations, if it’s possible.
I see myself as an encourager of people. I look for opportunities to do that, rather than being a passive encourager. A lot of that does stem from the confidence that comes from faith.
