Everyday Faith

Everyday Faith is the name given to a wide range of activities across the church of England that support and equip us all to ‘find and follow God’ in our everyday lives – Sunday to Saturday.

The Everyday Faith app is optimised for Apple devices running iOS 15.0 and above, and Android 14 and above.

For iOS, go to Settings, then Display & Brightness and then Text Size. For Android, open the Settings app and search for Font Size. In both cases, drag the slider left or right to adjust the font size to your requirements. Your preference will be remembered for subsequent views.

The app automatically saves content to your device for the current day and the previous two days for reading when you do not have an internet connection.

Tap on the cog icon at the top right-hand side corner of the app. You will find options for enabling push notifications, sharing analytics data, our privacy policy, terms of use and other links.

We collect analytics data to help us understand how the app is being used and to measure app performance. All data is collected anonymously and cannot be used to identify you in any way.

However, if you'd prefer for us not to collect this data, you can opt out. Go to the Settings section of the app and toggle the 'Allow analytics data' switch to the off position. 

The Church of England will only use this data to analyse and improve the services offered through the app. For more information about how we manage your data, you can tap on the 'Privacy Policy' button in the Settings section or access it here.

Push notifications provide you with a daily reminder that today’s reflection is available to read. You will also receive updates on new themes, seasons and features as you continue to use the app.

When opening the app for the first time you will be presented with a prompt requesting permission to send you push notifications. Tap ‘Allow notifications’ to subscribe or ‘Maybe later’ to decline.

You can change your preferences at any time by going to the Settings section of the app or within your device’s notification settings.

The portal is web-based system to access digital journeys to take on your own and share with others that will inspire, equip and encourage you in your everyday faith.

You sign up by creating a log in through the main portal page – once you have done this you will be asked a couple of simple questions that help to tailor the system for your personal use.

The Everyday Faith portal is part of a shift in resources called for in the Setting God’s People Free report to inspire and support every member of the Church of England in an ‘all of life discipleship and vocational journey’ .

The portal and the resources within our intended for anyone wishing to develop their faith or support others in their faith. It can be used individually or one to one with someone else or as part of a group.

Your home page is bespoke to you, based on your chosen journeys, topics and preferences. A system that allows account creation and customisation means creating a password for access. It only takes a minute or two to sign up and you can access the privacy policy to see how we steward your personal data.

Churches can encourage congregations to work through journeys together or simply signpost people to the portal to choose the journeys/content that they prefer.

Content comes from a range of sources:

1. Content already created by the Church of England and the National Church Institutions, updated and made available on-demand
2. Third party content from networks and organisations that specialise in various aspects of life and faith
3. An increasing number of dioceses are providing local content that you will see in on your home page.  

Yes. We will be making new journeys available regularly. These will be discoverable as new featured journeys or recommended to you based on the topics you have selected.
