Developing chaplaincy

An emerging network of Anglican Chaplaincy Leads from dioceses and sectors are exploring ways in which chaplaincy can be supported and can developed. We are looking at vision and strategy, vocation and training, funding and deployment.

On 9 November 2023, the Archbishop of York, the Most Revd and Rt Hon Stephen Cottrell joined us, delivering his keynote address. Below are papers which we prepared for the day. We continue to work as a group and with colleagues and partners to explore how we can best support and develop chaplaincy within the mixed ecology of the Church of England. We are working particularly with Bishop Ruth Worsley, newly appointed Lead Bishop for Chaplaincy.
