Who we are
Our apps are operated by the Archbishops’ Council which is a body pursuant to section 1 (1) of the National Institutions Measure 1998, whose objects are to co-ordinate, promote, aid and further the work and mission of the Church of England. Pursuant to section 1(2) of the National Institutions Measure 1998, the Archbishops’ Council is established for charitable purposes, charity number 1074857 together with its representatives ("We"). We are located at Church House, Great Smith Street, London, SW1P 3AZ.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner, registration number Z6034304.
Changes to these terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to revise and update these terms at any time without notice. Any changes are effective immediately. You’ll agree to any changes if you continue to use our apps after the terms of use have been updated.
Changes to our apps
We reserve the right to change or cease offering any app or any functionality within an app without notice. We will not be liable if for any reason all or any part of our apps is unavailable at any time.
Access
Access to our apps is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the services we provide through our apps without notice. We will not be liable if for any reason, our apps are unavailable at any time or for any period. Occasionally, we may restrict access to some parts of an app or the entire app to users.
If you are provided with a user identification code, password, or any other piece of information as part of our security measures, you must treat such information as confidential, and you must not disclose it to any third party. We have the right to disable any user identification code or password, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time if in our opinion, you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these terms of use.
You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to our apps. You are also responsible for ensuring that all persons who access our apps through your internet connection are aware of these terms and comply with them.
Intellectual Property Rights
The contents, features and functionality of our various apps (including but not limited to all information, software, text, displays, images, video, and audio, and the design, and arrangement of the same) are owned by the Archbishops’ Council or its licensors where applicable. These works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.
Some content found on our apps may be the copyright of third parties and are reproduced with kind permission, consent, under licence or within the acts permitted by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

Your reliance on information
The information we provide through our apps is made available solely for general information purposes. Although we make reasonable efforts to update the information on our apps, we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the content on our apps is accurate, complete or up to date. Any reliance you place on such information is strictly at your own risk.
User contributions
Our apps may contain interactive features that allow users to post, submit, publish, display, or transmit to other users or other persons content or materials on or through our apps.
Any information you contribute must be up to date and correct at the time of contribution and you must keep it up to date and correct as required by the 4th principle of the Data Protection Act 1998. All personal information will be dealt with in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and our privacy policy.
Where you contribute information on any part of our site, you must comply with the provisions set out in these terms of use.
Submissions may be removed (or, if checked in advance, not published in the first place) if they do not adhere to this policy.
We may have to remove a submission for legal reasons (whatever the rights and wrongs). If you are aware that content has been removed, you must not deliberately resubmit the same content.
- Content that is deemed against our acceptable use policy includes, but is not limited to:
- Phishing or engaging in identity theft
- Distributing computer viruses, worms, trojan horses or other malicious code
- Distributing pornography or adult-related content or offering any escort services
- Promoting or facilitating violence or terrorist activities
- Infringing the intellectual property or other proprietary rights of others
- Attempting to defame someone else's likeness or character
However, we do not undertake to review such contributions or any other material before it is posted on or through our apps, and we cannot ensure prompt removal of objectionable material after it has been posted. So, we assume no liability for any action or inaction regarding transmissions, communications, or content provided by any user or third party.
Limitation of our liability
Nothing in these terms of use excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, or our fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.
To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions, warranties, representations or other terms which may apply to our site or any content in it, whether express or implied.
We will not be liable to any user for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with:
- use of, or inability to use our apps; or
- use of, or reliance on any content displayed on our apps.
We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a virus, distributed denial-of-service attack, or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, digital devices, computer programs, apps, data or other proprietary material due to your use of our apps or to your downloading of any content on them, or on any website linked to them.
We assume no responsibility for the content of websites linked to our site. Such links should not be interpreted as endorsement by us of those linked websites. We will not be liable for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

Suspension and termination
If in our absolute discretion, there is any inappropriate use of any of our apps by you, we may take such action as we deem appropriate including withdrawal of your right to use the app and if appropriate, legal proceedings.
We exclude liability for actions taken in response to inappropriate use of our apps and any breaches of this policy. The responses described in this policy are not limited, and we may take any other action we reasonably deem appropriate.
Applicable law
Please note that this policy, its subject matter and its formation, are governed by English law. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.
