My name is Isaac Lawrence, I am the Vicar of All Saints’ Scotby and St. John’s Cotehill with Cumwhinton in the Diocese of Carlisle. Before I was ordained, I worked as Inventory and stocks manager and later on as Events Coordinator for ASDA. I was born in Pakistan and I have Indian heritage. In my previous life I have worked for Chinese, Japanese and Turkish companies, I have also worked in Afghanistan with the Afghan Refugees hence have a vast knowledge and experience of working with different cultures and communities.

What kind of a mentor are you?
I am passionate about mentoring because I have been on the same path as you are on and in my time, I didn’t have the facility of having a mentor. Therefore, I understand the importance of mentoring especially when you are on this path of discernment. I believe mentoring is one of the best ways of investing in people’s lives. I have a lot of life experience and so I can provide the tools, guidance and support you will need to help you navigate your way through your process of discernment. I have been on the same road you are on currently and I will be willing to advise you on what I have done and what worked for me. I am willing to share my experience and will give you positive, constructive feedback and will be able to find you the right resources if needed.

Time availability
As every individuals’ needs are different, I would say negotiable, depending upon the individual’s needs.

Interests
Travelling, music, poetry, films and cooking.

Languages
English obviously, Urdu, Punjabi, Pushto (a language spoken in the North of Pakistan and Afghanistan), and Hindi (although my level of expertise is medium)

Tradition
Evangelical/charismatic, but have been part of high church tradition, and have also been part of free churches, Methodist and United Reformed church as well, and all that is relatively useful.
