My name is Jean Burgess and I am currently Archdeacon of Bolton, serving in the Diocese of Manchester of the last two years. Previously, I was the vicar of St Alkmund’s Derby, a largish Charismatic Evangelical Church on the outskirts of the City Centre. I served on the vocations team for the Diocese and have walked with a good number of people on their vocational journey.

I remain firmly in the Charismatic Evangelical tradition personally but my work life sees me worshipping across a wide range of traditions.

I am willing to mentor anyone who is exploring their vocational call wherever that may lead them. I am particularly interesting in those who may feel they are disadvantaged by background or circumstances, or who may feel that they do not “fit” into what they might see as the Anglican norm.

As a mentor, my skills lie in active listening and reflection and I would hope to help you discover with Gods help, the direction that God is calling you. I am not here to give you the answers but to walk alongside you as you uncover the path God is opening up for you.

The time I can offer is limited but mentoring has an important role in releasing new leadership within the Church and therefore am willing to offer a once a month time slot to work with someone.

I have a grown and growing family and they are a delight to me, I like to read, play guitar and paint. Walking in the beautiful countryside which surrounds us here in Bury has also become a joy.
