Hey! My name is Joe Moore and I am an Assistant Curate in the Diocese of Southwark.

I grew up in London and stayed for university to read Religion, Philosophy & Ethics at King’s College London. It was during my time at King’s that I came back to faith having been brought up in a Christian home. I worked for a church in East London as part of a Church of England Ministry Experience Scheme, before entering training in 2016 at Cranmer Hall, Durham. I was made Deacon at Southwark Cathedral at Petertide 2019. I am currently serving at Croydon Minster, a choral civic church.

I would be keen to mentor those who are 18-35, and as an LGBT+ person, hope I would be helpful if you also fall into that bracket. I am someone who enjoys hearing different perspectives on life, faith and the world. As a mentor I would wish to be someone who you know to be ‘for’ you and accompany you on your way as you discern what God might be leading you into.

In terms of time availability, I would be happy to chat about what would work best for us both, and plan accordingly. Please get in touch.

My sense of vocation has been nurtured in Charismatic Evangelical church settings, as well as in Anglo-Catholic settings, so I’m a bit of a hybrid in terms of church tradition! I love the breadth of the Church of England, and find nourishment across the traditions.

I enjoy theatre, good coffee, reading and travel. I have a rescue dog -  a delightful corgi called Revel.
