I am the Lead Chaplain at the Bath RUH Trust & Staff Governor; I am also the Assistant Diocesan Director of Ordinands and the BAME Officer for Bath & Wells Diocese.

Before my Ordination in 2002, I was a Registered Nurse working in both Palliative Care and Mental Health for adults and young people. I am a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor particularly working with those who have experienced loss, sexual, emotional and spiritual abuse. I am an Integrative Supervisor, individual and couples counsellor, Spiritual Director, I lead workshops, quiet days and retreats and Pilgrimages to the Holy Land.

As the Lead Chaplain, as well as providing Religious and Spiritual Care to all patient and their families - I offer emotional, spiritual and practical support to staff individually and Teams in their roles to prevent burn out, stress and depression, loss of confidence and further mental health issues I am passionate about raising awareness of cultural, racial, faith, gender issues and seek ways to celebrate our differences and share our common humanity. Large part of my role is to raise awareness, understanding and train staff on Religious, Spiritual Care and Cultural needs.

I am married to Oosman who is from Mauritius, I was born in India and speak Punjabi – we came to the UK in 1965. I come from a Sikh family and became a Christian in my 20s, this journey has been challenging. and I have 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren. I enjoy cooking food from all over the world - we love having a open house - a reflection of my Indian upbringing. I enjoy swimming, walking, reading, spending time with friends and going to the theatre. I enjoy creative and traditional worship in all settings.
