Peter Bacon

I was the PA to the Director of Vocations in the Diocese of Chester from 2016 until I took early retirement in 2022. It was a role I thoroughly enjoyed and it covered both ordained and lay vocations. I left school at 16 and spent 20 years in banking followed by 15 years freelancing as a PC trainer and working in Project support roles.

I am a clergy son, and a clergy spouse. My wife retired from full-time parish ministry in December 2019. In our new parish, I have recently been elected as a Church Warden. In the 1990s I was in the discernment process and was not recommended for training – a wise decision! I grew up in a central tradition, (which is where I feel most comfortable) but have also worshipped in an Anglo-Catholic church, and an ecumenical project in East London.

I have a great delight in seeing people progress and enjoy being alongside them on their journey – wherever that make take them. I find a real joy in people achieving more than they ever thought they could. I am a firm believer in people finding and fulfilling their vocation.

I will be available usually in the evenings or weekends and will be happy to accompany anyone on their journey.

My interests are motorsport and photography. I built my own car which I now hire out for weddings.
