Ely Ministry Experience Scheme

Cambridge has a reputation as a University city and for its hi-tech industry. It has a beautiful city centre and it is booming economically. But it also has the greatest gap between rich and poor in England.

It has well attended city centre churches with very distinctive callings and traditions - but also a doughnut of more 'normal' parish churches and some with very distinctive ministries in areas of deprivation. Our participants live in community in one of those areas; three of them are also placed with another church in the city. The group reflects regularly on their different missional experiences, participates in a vocations course and studies alongside ordinands and trainee licensed lay ministers on a programme of foundational theology.
