Southwell and Nottingham Ministry Experience Scheme

The MES year in Southwell & Nottingham provides people aged 18-30 with the chance to join a team of a local church for a year. As a part of this, all participants join The Apprentice Track programme – a chance for young leaders to journey as a group of disciples into exploring what it means to have life with God at the centre of all that we do.

The year is a partnership between the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham and the local church. Participants on The Apprentice Track will belong to a local church where they will serve within the mission and ministry of that church, with specific areas of supervised responsibility. This could include worship leading, youth & children’s ministry, student ministry, administration, media, outreach or prayer ministry. The application process will invite you to express what area of ministry you are particularly interested in and passionate about.

As a participant on The Apprentice Track, you will be part of a larger cohort meeting monthly for teaching, worship and prayer ministry. You will also have the opportunity to access training that is more specific to your ministry area of focus. The year is all about growing in your faith, experiencing ministry in a variety of contexts, and continuing to learn who you are and what you were made for.
