Across the year, there are a few opportunities for all MES and Future Youth participants to meet together for teaching, learning and networking. The main opportunity for this, and the only one that isn’t online, is a national day conference, based in London, in January.
This is a part of an MES year, established to bring together participants from across the country for shared teaching, worship and community.
The next national conference will take place on 14 January 2027 for the 2026/27 cohort.
Guest speakers are yet to be announced. Previous conferences have included speakers such as Andrew Tremlett, Dean of St Paul’s Cathedral; Stephanie Iltchenco and John McGinley from Myriad, the church planting network; Chine McDonald, Director of Theos; and Carl Beech, pioneer and visionary behind Edge Ministries and the Edge Faith Community.
As well as the national conference, there are typically 2-3 online gatherings across the year for all participants. These have previously included speakers such as hospital chaplains, national evangelism leads, contributors to the Church of England's racial justice work, external organisations like Christians Against Poverty, MPs and occasionally bishops.
+Saju Muthalaly, Bishop of Loughborough, spoke to MES participants online concerning liturgical practices (in the broadest sense) that help people in life. You can listen to the talk below.
