The Church Commissioners for England has won two awards at the IPE Global Real Estate Awards ceremony in Copenhagen.
The awards – ‘Large Real Estate Investor of the Year’ in the gold category and for ‘Social Impact’ in the themed silver category – are recognition for the strong work over the last year of the Commissioners’ Real Assets team.
Judges praised the real assets team for its efforts to have a positive impact on society: “The diverse portfolio includes initiatives such as affordable housing, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy projects, and biodiversity enhancements. By prioritising these areas, the Church Commissioners not only contribute to the economic vitality of communities but also uphold the Church’s mission to foster social well-being and environmental stewardship.”
In the Social Impact category, judges praised the Commissioners “well-developed and clear social impact strategy”, adding: “They deliver outstanding regional social impact by embedding stewardship, affordable housing, healthcare, biodiversity and community revitalisation across their real assets investments. Their responsible-investment pillars provide a clear and structured impact overlay, underpinning a deep commitment to delivering social and environmental outcomes alongside financial returns.”
The IPE Real Estate Global Conference & Awards, now in its 21st year, celebrates the excellence in the global real estate investment community.
