The Diocese of Chester has issued a film showing a Bank Holiday motorbike ride as part of a fundraising drive for Congo.
Over the Easter weekend, the Bishop of Chester, Mark Tanner, led a scenic motorcycle ride through the picturesque lanes and villages of Cheshire. The ride was organised to raise funds for the Biking Bishops Mission Fund, which provides motorbikes to clergy in the Democratic Republic of Congo. These bikes are essential for delivering education, nursing, midwifery, and other vital services to communities that are otherwise difficult to reach.
Last year, generous donations of £6,000 enabled the purchase of eleven bikes for the Diocese of Chester’s linked dioceses, Aru and Boga. Since then, a further £6,900 has been raised and contributions are still coming in, raising hopes that even more bikes can be provided this year.
