
Revd Guy Hewitt
Guy is Director of the Racial Justice Unit, joining the team in November 2022. Guy is a Barbadian British Anglican priest, racial justice advocate, and specialist in social policy and development. He held the ambassadorial appointment of High Commissioner of Barbados in London from 2014-2018. He worked alongside the Archbishops' Commission for Racial Justice 2022-24 to ensure the FLTA taskforce recommendations were implemented and this work continues into 2025 and beyond.
Revd Dr Sharon Prentis
Sharon is Deputy Director of the Racial Justice Unit, joining the team in April 2023. Sharon was previously Dean of Ministry at St Mellitus College and Mission Enabler and Dean of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Affairs in the Diocese of Birmingham and Deputy Director of Research at the Salvation Army. She is currently Canon Theologian at both Lichfield and Portsmouth Cathedrals.


Revd Brunel James
Brunel is the Project and Secretariat Manager for the Racial Justice Unit, joining the team in December 2022. He had previously served in a variety of parish roles, whilst also addressing issues of social justice through work with the Church Urban Fund and membership of the General Synod, including participation in the decisive ‘Windrush Debate’ in February 2020.
Chantelle Stephenson
Racial Justice Unit Coordinator, Chantelle is the most long-standing member of our team, with many years of experience within the National Church Institutions, including Lambeth Palace.


Tammy Woods
Tammy is Executive Assistant to the Director and Deputy Director of the Racial Justice Unit, joining the team in July 2023, having worked in the Church of England Pensions Board Investment Team since 2015.
Danielle Chavrimootoo
Danielle is our Anti-Racist Learning & Development Specialist and joined the team in April 2024. Danielle has worked in higher education and with large organisations in developing anti-racist learning strategies, policies and strategies for implementation. She brings expertise in evaluating change through evidence-based practise.


Reshmi Sarkar
Reshmi is our Grants Manager and joined the team in January 2025. Reshmi is a Human Rights Lawyer by training and has worked in grant funding across the third, public and corporate sectors both in the UK and internationally. She brings expertise in funding practice related change management.
