Conference for cathedral Fabric Advisory Committees

Every few years, we organise a two-day conference for the chairs and secretaries of cathedral Fabric Advisory Committees.
The next conference will be held in July 2019.

The conference is a chance for the Cathedrals Fabric Commission for England and Fabric Advisory Committee members to discuss topics of common interest and new developments (e.g. legislation, funding and good practice). Everyone involved in the care and maintenance of cathedral buildings and their contents is welcome.

Each conference is hosted by two cathedrals. Visits and conference sessions offer participants the opportunity to share their experiences, see something new and gain a new perspective. They also allow the host cathedrals to showcase projects, share their thinking and draw on attendees’ expertise and experience.

Further information on the 2019 conference is coming soon.

Recent conferences have been held at:

  • Ely and St Edmundsbury (2017)
  • Bristol and Wells (2013)
  • Birmingham and Lichfield (2010)
  • Derby and Southwell (2007)
  • York and Sheffield (2004)
