General Synod February Group of Sessions 2017: Thursday

FAREWELL TO THE BISHOP OF LONDON

The Archbishop of Canterbury gave an address to thank the Bishop of London for his ministry to the Church on his retirement. 

ADDRESS FROM THE MOST REVD DR JOSIAH ATKINS IDOWU-FEARON, THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE ANGLICAN COMMUNION

Dr Josiah Atkins Idowu-Fearon gave a presentation to Synod in his capacity as Secretary General of thw Anglican Communion.


SETTING GOD'S PEOPLE FREE: REPORT FROM THE ARCHBISHOPS' COUNCIL (GS 2056)
Canon Mark Russell moved the motion below welcoming the Setting God's People Free report from the Archbishops' Council. Synod approved the motion. 


That this Synod:  (a) welcome the report from the Archbishops' Council, Setting God's People Free (GS 2056); and  (b) call on the Archbishops' Council to develop the implementation plan referred to in section 5 of the report and to work closely with the House of Bishops and the dioceses in taking it forward.


MISSION AND ADMINISTRATION ( GS 2057A AND GS 2057B

Gavin Oldham moved a motion regarding national administration in the Church of England. Synod approved the motion as amended by Mary Chapman.
