We make decisions on applications for certain types of work to cathedrals in England. The Care of Cathedral Measure 2011 sets out our powers and duties. We also offer a free pre-application advice service to help you develop your ideas.

Our membership

The Commission has 24 members.

They include experts in liturgy, architecture, archaeology, conservation, engineering, music and art. We consult with professional and Church bodies before appointing them.
