Find information on baptism, wedding and funeral records, adoption records and Anglican clergy records

The Lambeth Palace Library website has some guides to help you research your family history.

Baptism, wedding and funeral records

Records for baptisms (also known as christenings), weddings and funerals are kept in the local area where they were created. You can find these records either at the church where the event took place or at the Diocesan Record Office (DRO) where that church holds its records. DROs are usually the council-run local record office. If you don’t know where the DRO is, please contact the church’s Diocesan Office. You can find the details of the Diocese under ‘More Info’ on A Church Near You.
