Priest, Diocese of Chelmsford

I trained for ministry at Westcott House, obtaining an MPhil in New Testament as part of my formation. Prior to this I studied for an undergraduate degree in Theology, spent some time in a Jesuit volunteering programme which included working with the L’Arche Community, and spent two years as a Pastoral Assistant at Liverpool Parish Church.

I served my curacy in Birmingham and since 2015 I have been Rector of St Laurence, Upminster, in the Diocese of Chelmsford.

My church tradition is broadly Anglo-Catholic. I have spent time exploring Ignatian spirituality and have also been much influenced by the Taizé Community.

I entered ministry as a single person, but married after a few years and now have a young son.

I am particularly interested in mentoring those who have questions about entering ministry at a young age, those exploring the relationship between academic theology and parish ministry, and those who feel particularly drawn towards reflecting on the nature of the Church as an intentional community.

Since I am a Vocations Adviser in my own diocese, I would prefer to mentor people from dioceses other than Chelmsford.
