The Commissioners were also highly commended in the categories for European Pension Fund of the Year and Long-term Investment Strategy. These awards recognise the Commissioners’ efforts to remain at the forefront of responsible investment.

Commenting on the awards, Tom Joy, Chief Investment Officer for the Church Commissioners, said, “How to invest capital so it can have a positive environmental and social impact in the wider world – while also generating above-inflation returns to support our core mission – is of growing interest to many institutional investors. These awards are a testament to the dedication of both our investment team and underscore the commitment and support from our Board.”

The Church Commissioners for England is the third largest charitable endowment in the UK, managing its investment fund in a responsible and ethical way to support the mission and ministry of the Church of England. We seek to use the portfolio to increase our impact on company behaviour for the common good.
