Exposed aesthetics at the Water Gardens

The Water Gardens in Burwood Place were completely refurbished in 2018. This hidden treasure is suspended over a podium deck and features mature trees and lush vegetation interacting with brutalist design elements, threaded through 1500sqm of large shallow ponds with aquatic vegetation and freshwater fish. Hidden corners allow the visitor to sit and enjoy a variety of views.

Repurposed Stained Glass Comprises a Disorienting Illuminated Greenhouse by Heywood & Condie

A brilliant greenhouse suffused with a rich spectrum of colour stands at 25 Porchester Place in London. Titled “Sacré blur,” the greenhouse is a 2015 project by horticultural artists Tony Heywood and Alison Condie.

The Church Commissioners and community representatives from the Hyde Park Estate planted trees as part of The Queen's Green Canopy project.

Nine different types of British native trees were planted in 16 different locations across the estate, chosen to support local wildlife and insects. These trees celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee and have also been dedicated to the Hyde Park Estate Association who celebrate their 70th Anniversary this year.

Kay & Co introduce the Hyde Park Estate

Before the end of the 18th Century, no one sought to develop the farmland north of this area because of its proximity to Tyburn Gallows. In 1783, when the execution site moved to Newgate Prison, building started and by 1807 the first properties on Connaught Place were erected and by the 1820s Connaught Square was completed.
