Message from the Bishop of Truro, Philip Mounstephen, Bishop of Truro and Chair of the National Redress Board to stakeholders explaining background to the new website section on redress published this month.

This is to let you know that we have launched a new section on the Church of England website, dedicated to the redress scheme, which sits within the main safeguarding area. The initial copy for this has been approved by the Scheme’s working group, which includes survivors and can be found here Redress Scheme | The Church of England.

Do be assured that it is information that is already in the public domain (via Synod, responses to IICSA etc): this however is the first time it has been put all together in one place.

Following the IICSA hearings, the Church’s General Synod committed to a more victim- and survivor-centred approach, including making robust arrangements to provide redress. This then is a vital piece of safeguarding work for the Church and the page will be appropriately updated when there is further information to share.
