This well-used, Victorian church in a conservation area in Islington installed a 10.8 kWp array of solar photo-voltaic panels on their chancel roof, as part of a package of energy efficiency measures.

It is estimated that the new array of panels generates over 9000 kWh per year of electricity. However, the project did not come without challenges. The chancel roof, set back from the road view, was ultimately chosen as the optimum location for the panels in sympathy with Highbury New Park's conservation area status, and poor weather caused delays in the installation itself.
