As part of a large-scale re-ordering, which involved the removal of pews and radiators, St Mary's Ashford installed a ground-source heat pump. The medieval, town-centre church uses the pump in combination with underfloor heating to deliver low-level heat through the building.

Since the introduction of this system in 2011, covering just under half of the total floor area of the church, it has proven itself a suitable, environmentally friendly solution to keeping people warm.
