The Coronation of King Charles III is a historic moment in the life of our nation. The Archbishop of Canterbury will lead the Coronation ceremony on Saturday, 6 May, which will be rooted in a longstanding tradition. It will reflect The King’s role today and look towards the future.

The Church of England is providing a range of resources to help churches and parishes to mark this historic moment in the life of our nation.

Online service

An online service for the Coronation of King Charles III will be streamed from the Church of England's website, and our Facebook and YouTube channels on Sunday 7 May and available on-demand immediately after its conclusion.

You're welcome to share via social media to complement your local services.

Information pack

The Coronation is a wonderful occasion for parishes, dioceses and chaplaincy teams to reach out to communities through providing services of celebration, community events and opportunities for volunteering.

The information pack shares resources, ideas and information on how your church or parish might choose to mark the Coronation weekend.

Daily prayers and reflections

Official prayers will be available across our social media channels to be shared digitally or used in printed material. Share your prayers and thoughts on the Coronation using the hashtag #CoronationPrayers from 10 April to Coronation Day on 6 May.

Daily reflections will also be available via email, smart speaker and the free Daily Hope phone line.

Book of Daily Prayers

As the King and Queen Consort prepare to solemnise the promises and commitments they make to the nations and people they represent, the Church will begin 28 days of prayer and spiritual preparation alongside the King – praying with and for the King from Easter Sunday to the Coronation (Sunday 9 April – Saturday 6 May).

Book of Daily Prayer: Accessible formats

In addition to the standard and large print (17pt) versions of Daily Prayers for the Coronation of King Charles III already available from Church House Publishing, a range of accessible formats for blind and partially-sighted people (including braille, audio CD and giant print versions) can now be ordered from Torch Trust.

Christian BSL is providing videos of God Save The King translated into British Sign Language (BSL) and signed by Brent Allen, a deaf Christian BSL user.

The videos are available to download and are free to use in online and onsite services, assemblies, and events without any additional music licences. A two verse lyric sheet is also available to download.
