Pioneer ministry is all about thinking outside of the box. Dave Gardner, the Director of Mission in the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich says that one of the biggest challenges in his diocese is changing the perception that most of the focus of ordained and lay ministry is for the benefit of the existing congregation but by creating a licensed route for pioneers and innovators, they are working to put pioneer ministry on a similar footing as other licensed lay ministries.
