Dulverton Hall is a purpose-built supported housing complex in the seaside town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
Built in 2002, the scheme offers 34 one-bedroom apartments. In addition to your private flat you will find a range of communal facilities and shared areas. We are just a short stroll from the sea on the south side of town and there are stunning views and lots of local amenities on your doorstep.
The flats at Dulverton Hall all have one bedroom and offer accommodation for both couples and single people. All the apartments face the sea and there are panoramic views of the beautiful coastline. The flats are accessed either by lift or by stairs.
All the flats have a bedroom, lounge and fully fitted kitchen with cooker and fridge. The bathroom includes a bath as well as a walk-in shower. There is ample storage space with a built-in wardrobe in the bedroom and two large, deep cupboards in the hallway.
Communal areas are spread throughout the scheme, with various small lounges and sitting areas offering space for those wanting to enjoy the company of friends and neighbours. We also have a hobbies room and a residents’ library and of course our chapel, St Hilda's Chapel.
Recently fitted with acoustic panelling, our modern dining room makes lunch and supper a comfortable dining experience. Outside of mealtimes, residents can get together at any time over a hot drink from our 24-hour complimentary hot drinks machine.

Community
Dulverton Hall offers you the opportunity to have your own front door to your own flat, whilst being part of an active Christian community.
You can share a meal with friends or make your own meals in your own kitchen. Your security and safety are ensured by our 24-hour warden call access system. The warden call system gives you peace of mind at night, knowing that you can always contact someone in an emergency.
Catering
At Dulverton Hall, we are proud to have an in-house catering team, dedicated to offering residents a well-balanced menu, with a blend of modern and traditional cuisine. We also cater for special diets.
Support
The supportive environment sets us apart from the typical sheltered or supported housing scheme. There are two full time managers on duty five days a week and these are complemented by a dedicated team of support workers who assist with all aspects of the running of the scheme.
We also have a full-time member of staff who is responsible for maintenance and gardening. They are on hand to assist with all aspects of maintenance in residents’ flats.
We do not provide personal or nursing care, but care packages can be organised with our help from external agencies. Every flat is fitted with a 24-hour warden call system which can be used to call for assistance from either the staff on site or the call centre when out of hours. Our goal is to ensure that Dulverton Hall is a home for life so we will support you in any way we can.
Chapel Life
Our chapel, St Hilda’s chapel is the focal point of our Christian community. With regular services, the chapel is overseen by residents and appreciates the support of the local Parish Priest.
Social
Residents make use of our extensive social areas and have regular get togethers. Current social activities include a chess club, regular snooker matches, and scrabble and card evenings.
Flat layout

"Dulverton Hall is a magical place. Immediately outside my window the sea crashes against the rocks below. The chorus of gulls fills the air and the morning sunrise touches the horizon with gold. In Dulverton the balance between independent living and community life seems exactly right. Privacy us respected in a framework of mutual flourishing and friendly relationships. Our managers and staff are always on hand and ready to help. They keep us all smiling and that is very important. I'm glad I came to Dulverton"

"... we applied and moved in on the 12th November 2002, that's a long time ago but have never regretted it. One of the advantages is that it is situated on the Esplanade with the lovely sea views. There is a beautiful St. Hilda's Chapel in the building... Living here you never feel alone, there is plenty of things to take part in i.e. Scrabble, chess, jigsaw table, watch a film, debates, visit the many lovely places around Scarborough. The midday meal is one where most people meet everyday and the managers and staff are most helpful... if you are thinking about joining... please do not leave it too late in retirement"

"What a wonderful retirement surprise!... (we) decided a few years ago that we would 'just have a look around' at Dulverton Hall... we have been here over three years. It was definitely the right choice! We live on the top floor and have a spectacular view of Scarborough South Bay, the harbour and the castle. Buses run regularly into town, the station or the hospital and the medical centre is just a short walk away, as is a small supermarket. We enjoy a very good lunch every day... we really appreciate the wonderful support offered by our staff... Our chapel is the hub and heart of our life and worship. How thankful we are that we are here!
