Criteria: This can vary depending on the charity but the majority of almshouse residents today are of retirement age, of limited financial means and living within the vicinity of an almshouse charity (or have a family connection to the area in which the charity is located).
An independent registered charity providing free, unfurnished, independent accommodation in 25 individual properties, spread over three sites, set in attractive gardens.
Criteria: For single Christian women who are widows of Church of England clergy or officers in HM Armed Forces, or who are themselves retired Church of England clergy or retired officers in HM Armed Forces. Applicants must be in reasonably good health and capable of living independently.
Offers fifteen high quality comfortable one-bedroom flats for rent, with peaceful south-facing communal gardens, together with a guest suite for visiting family and close friends.
Criteria: For committed Christians whose careers have furthered Christianity by actively supporting their local churches in a meaningful way and have been unable to provide for a home of their own.
