He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him.
Colossians 1.15-16
Reflection
Do you ever feel restless? Like your attention is being pulled in many directions, so that you don’t know where to focus? Daily life brings constant information, steady noise, and strong pressure to react immediately. In this fast-paced world, it becomes hard to pause and think about the deeper questions of life. Questions like who am I, why am I here, and what should I be doing with this life.
As we begin a week reflecting on what it means to follow Jesus in a digital world, today’s reading reminds us that all creation comes through Jesus and exists for Jesus. Paul’s words invite us to place Jesus at the centre of all we do. When our attention is pulled in different directions, when we slip into a doom scroll, lose time in a world surrounded by online distractions, or fall into a rabbit hole of comparison, we look to Jesus for worth and steady focus.
This week, we reflect on fresh choices as we follow Christ online. How might desires, decisions, and actions form around his way? When we align our choices with the one through whom all things were made and for whom all things exist, our digital spaces look different.
Response
Pause and set your focus on Jesus. Consider your online life with honesty. Does it look like it reflects Jesus? Is Jesus on the margins? Nowhere at all?
Lord Jesus, guide my thoughts and shape my steps.
Hold my attention when distraction rises.
Form my choices so my life follows your truth in every space today.
Amen.
