Guidance

5.4 Induction
Why?

A proper induction process ensures that everyone in the church body fully understands and knows how to follow safeguarding policies and procedures, and makes sure expectations are clear. In particular for elected members, it is important they fully understand and accept their responsibilities as trustees.

How?

It is important that elected members know what their responsibilities are for safeguarding, and the roles of others involved in safeguarding.   Being able to put names to faces and building relationships helps establish a culture where people feel comfortable and able to raise and report any concerns, safeguarding or otherwise.
